The event was hosted by Antigua Yacht Club from October 24\u201326.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe id=\"gkstfcayky\" src=\"https:\/\/cruisingworld.dragonforms.com\/gkstfcayky\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"width:100%;height:165px;border:none;overflow:hidden;\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Six sailors represented the Sint Maarten Yacht Club across Optimist, Topper Fusion, and ILCA fleets, and their consistency put the team just behind host nation Antigua and ahead of other regional programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1st Optimist:<\/strong> Nathan Sheppard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1st Topper Fusion (Double-Handed):<\/strong> Oskar Jarrett Versteegden and Adilyn Treadwell, with Paola Lapierre crewing on Day 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3rd ILCA 4:<\/strong> Harper Treadwell<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3rd ILCA 6:<\/strong> Massimo Lapierre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s results show how hard our young sailors have worked,\u201d said SMYC Racing Coach Sam Peeks. \u201cWe are so proud of how they represented Sint Maarten not just through their results, but also through their great attitude and sportsmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In true island-sailor style, the team made an offshore passage to the regatta as well, sailing from Sint Maarten to Antigua aboard a monohull. The Sint Maarten Yacht Club, founded in 1980, runs an active junior program aimed at building seamanship, teamwork, and confidence on the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Optimists to ILCA dinghies, young sailors across the region are gaining offshore experience as well, often through inter-island passages to major events.
